La référence 5066A a été lancée peu de temps après les références initiales (en 1998) et fabriquée exclusivement pour le marché japonais.. Seulement 500 exemplaires ont été fabriqués et très peu arrivent sur le marché, une pièce rare... Le cadran en damier bleu contraste joliment avec le bracelet et est estampé de chiffres appliqués en argent. La patine du tritium donne un subtil ton crémeux.
Patek's reference 5066A was launched just after the original references (in 1998) and produced exclusively for the important Japanese market. Only 500 examples were made. In fact very few ever made it to the public marketplace, which qualifies this as a rare piece indeed. The dial in regal blue is a lovely contrast with the signature bracelet on this model, featuring stamped numerals applied in silver. In time the tritium has aged to a subtle cream tone, adding to its appeal.

Probablement la plus belle de toute les Calatrava avec son fond vissé et sa boite étanche. La montre qui m'a fait rêvé et qui représente le mieux Patek. Cet exemplaire est juste parfait avec ses deux poinconsn d'origine et son cadran jamais touché, vernis d'origine aussi. Perfection c'est le mot !
With its screw back and water resistant case, this is probably one of the most beautiful Calatrava examples. It's the watch that makes you dream of the best from Patek. This example is just perfect with its two original "poincoins" and never-touched dial, not to mention original varnish. In a word: perfection!

Il existe quelques exemplaires seulement chiffres Breguet peints de ce modèle ... Elle correspond à une petite période chez Patek Philippe qui a produit ce type de cadrans... Lorsque l'on regarde les ventes et ce que cherchent les amateurs de Patek anciennes, les Breguet number rajoutent souvent un zero aux estimations basses. C'est surtout une montre exceptionnelle et on comprend immédiatement pourquoi Patek a la réputation de fabriquer les plus belles montres au monde.
Only a few models of this model with painted Breguet numerals exist. It is from a brief period at Patek Philippe when it produced dials painted with Breguet numerals. When we look at auctions that attract ancient Patek lovers we often see the painted Breguet dial pieces add an extra zero at the end of the low estimation. This also has the oddly false air of a Seiko (or even a Timex!) from the '70s, but upon closer examination it's simply an exceptional watch that makes it easy to understand immediately why Patek merits the reputation of making the most beautiful watches in the world.
Cette très rare Patek des années 20 grande taille, chiffres Breguet, est exceptionnelle en plusieurs points. Elle fait partie des rares très grandes montres de l'époque et surtout il s'agit véritablement d'une montre de production avec numéro de boite et numéros de mouvement. Son cadran chiffres Breguet est aussi très rare et pour moi il s'agit vraiment d'une montre d'exception. Elle a été vendue chez Christie's plus de 18Ke il y a déjà 7-8 ans.
This very rare Patek from the '20s in a large size with Breguet numbers is exceptional in several aspects. It is among the very few large watches from this period, and above all truly constitutes a production watch with numbered case and movement. The dial with Breguet numerals is also quite rare, and for me truly makes it an exceptional watch. We know it was sold at a Christie's auction about 7 or 8 years ago for EUR 18K.
